Dear Distinguished Colleagues,

This unique “International Conference on Superconductivity and Magnetism” -ICSM 2012, will be held at Artemis Marin Princess Hotel(5*) in Kumburgaz-Istanbul/Turkey between 29 April -4 May 2012, with a spring school and educational courses (24 – 28 April, 2012) prior to the conference.

We are fortunate to have secured the venue Hotel with a contract special to our participants. Kumburgaz is a small town with a pedestrian friendly coast about 40 km away from the old city of Istanbul, while participants can also enjoy the large city feel. Istanbul is located between Europe and Asia, and easily accessible by air, train and car. All conference activities together with associated commercial exhibition will be taken place at the hotel’s conference halls with the state-of art facilities including full-board-extended accommodation at affordable prices with luxury, work and pleasure both appealing for senior and junior scientists. Priority will be given to senior scientists and invited speakers.

ICSM is expected to attract around a thousand participants from all over the world to discuss the recent developments in superconductivity, magnetism, magnetic materials, functional materials and related technologies. ICSM2012 will provide a platform, where solid state physicists, chemists and material scientists, engineers and other professionals meet together for mutual benefits and collaboration. Ten plenary speakers will present their latest research findings along with 165 invited speakers. The program will also include contributing talks of around 145 and 3 poster sessions with about 500 presentations of the latest research findings of the participants.

We look forward to welcoming you at the magical city of Istanbul, where you will certainly get a real treat in terms of science, career, culture and social aspects.

On behalf of the Organizing and Program Committees, I am very happy to invite you to participate in International Conference on Superconductivity and Magnetism, ICSM2012 to be held in Istanbul between 29 April- 4 May 2012 with a spring school and educational courses (24 – 28 April, 2012) prior to the conference. Members of the international scientific and engineering communities interested in recent developments in superconductivity, magnetism, magnetic materials and related technologies are cordially invited to attend the Conference and contribute to its technical sessions. The wide ranging technical topics can be found on the conference web-site. We do hope that ICSM2012 will provide a platform, where solid state physicists, chemists and material scientists, engineers and other professionals meet together for mutual benefits and collaboration. We are pleased to announce that the abstract submission for International Conference on Superconductivity and Magnetism (ICSM2012) has been activated. All invited speakers and participants are kindly invited and urged to upload their recent original research findings at our web-site (http://www.icsm2012.org/conference/ ) at earliest convenience. Abstract submission can only be made electronically via our web-site using the template.  All contributed abstracts received will be reviewed on the basis of scientific merit, novelty and practical application. Full-text papers will be subject to peer review before accepted for publication in a special issue of “Journal of
Superconductivity and Novel Magnetism”.

ICSM2012 will highlight recent advances in all major disciplines of Superconductivity and Magnetism with a unique concept. Many eminent scientists including Nobel laureates have also shown interest in attending the conference to deliver plenary talks.

We are very grateful to our International Advisory/ Scientific Program Committees and session chairs for their valuable feedbacks. We are also very pleased to confirm the attendance of around 165 invited speakers (115 confirmed + 50 pending) leading in their fields and around 200 pre-registered researchers who have shown interest in ICSM2012 as of September 5 and still counting. The conference will be integrated with educational courses & spring school between 25-29 April 2012 prior to the conference for students and young researchers. The course contents together with the level of recommended background will be announced soon.

Please join us in Istanbul in April 2012 to explore a plethora of information on current research in Superconductivity and Magnetism and to network with fellow academic and industrial researchers together with an active social program.

Proceedings

Submitted papers of ICSM2012 will be peer-reviewed. Reviews will be conducted by expert referees at professional level and with the scientific standards expected of a proceedings journal issue to be published by “Journal of Superconductivity and Novel Magnetism” as a single/special issue.

We believe that this upcoming conference, with the expanded topics and wide range of sessions, will  provide a forum where the many matters of interest to the superconductivity and magnetism community will be debated. We are of the opinion that the conference will constitute a greater success with a larger attendee in bridging the gap between the best established scientists, engineers, exhibitors and participants from all countries and communities underrepresented in science and technology.
